Job description

The Account Executive is responsible for the commercial growth in a sub-set of addressable market. The role includes account management (land and expand, solidify the partnership) and new business. The Account Executive plays a crucial role in the growth with independent software vendors (ISVs) and (mid-size) corporate end users. Our client’s commercial strategy focusses on the Benelux and over time (one – two years) expansion into other Western European countries.
The Account Executive brings in-depth experience, energy, endurance and a ‘thinking outside the box’ mind-set. Forming part of the commercial team, reporting to the Sales Director, the Sales Executive will play an active role in future value creation and therefore needs to be able to think strategically in both shorter and longer time frames.

Key Responsibilities
• Executing the three roles: new business generation, expand the business and relationship management.
• Development of commercial actions plans (incl. link with marketing), target setting, performance management, and implementation of effective sales tactics.
• Leading from the front; actively engaging in sales activities and demonstrating effective techniques and strategies. Create a strong working relation with the BDR department and marketing.
• Close deals personally, showcasing best practices in account management, pricing and contract optimization.
• Provide hands-on support to all in the commercial team, sharing expertise and insights gained from personal experience.

Job requirements

Candidate Profile
Extensive commercial experience in comparable IT technology organisations preferable with software development. Demonstrable success in developing and implementing best-in-class commercial strategies. Entrepreneurial, proactive, and strong in establishing, maintaining and expanding relationships. Able to leverage a relevant network, demonstrating commercial flair and a clear, service-oriented style. Able to combine a systematic and analytical approach with creativity and innovation. Comfortable at both a strategic and operational level and able to execute critical decisions in the interest of the business and commercial excellence. Has the ability to thrive in a smaller, entrepreneurial setting where freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility.

Key Selection Criteria
• Strong track record in selling complex IT services, preferably software consultancy with 3-9 months sales cycles. Experience in outsourcing software development is a bonus.
• Knows how the grow and manage customer portfolio’s of active customers and prospects.
• Understands IT and knows and understands the agenda of CTI, CIO, architects, product-owners etc..
• Experience in fast-growing entrepreneurial (tech) environments.
• Tactical business development combined with hands-on deal-making.
• Hands-on including deal origination and deal-closing.
• No corporate behavior, no ego.
• Relevant commercial experience.

Competencies
• Ability to develop and implement a clear sale and account management plan.
• Able to motivate and engage with a diverse community of team members at both a group and personal level.
• Extensive experience in software or adjacent sectors, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, trends, and customer needs.
• Proven track record driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets within a IT services environment.
• Exceptional sales skills with a history of successful account management and client relationship building.
• The job requires flexibility in style as one needs to Hunt, Farm, work with BDR department, marketing and colleagues in Romania.
• Fluency in English and Dutch (German is a bonus).
